The Bubble Festival of Change - what a week!
How it all began in Malta for me
Its now over 8 years since I first moved to Malta, saw the phrase on a menu “Why Not, helping to raise the vibration of the Planet.”
Why was that significant? I had written down that goal a few years before.
When you let go, your vibration goes up. I figured if I can teach enough people to let go, their vibration would go up and that would raise the vibration of the Planet. Seemed logical to me.
Why Not is an NGO run by a crowd of spiritual, young entrepreneurial thinking Maltese who wanted to help instigate change through events, education, workshops and festivals.
I emailed them, saying I have no idea what you are up to, but I have to connect due to our shared “Mission.” The following week I was at a meeting withou a dozen young Maltese at crystal rock near surfside for my first introduction to their vision and passions.
This is where my journey in the exciting new metaphysical world truly began.
Someone in the UK said to me, you are very out the closet with your spirituality, its because I spent 6 years here learning, experiencing and being.
My belief that Malta was an old folks island where people came to stay warm in the winter, could not have been further off the mark.
Since that time where we spent a lot of time meditating, hanging on the beach, at the Why Not shop, and living on a shoe string, everyones lives have taken different turns, but its clear after spending a week with most of these people again, we are still all on the same page when it comes to other humans and the Planet.
Im not sure I have ever felt so much common love in one place, sounds uber corny I know, but it really had such an incredible vibe.
The peace grove had workshops that started at 8am everyday until aroun 11 at night, even with a couple of slumber parties!
At the beginning of the there was one other stage, then come Thursday another 2 stages, food stalls, eco market and many, many more people.
I chose the glamping option, 7 nights in a teepee with mattreSs and fairy lights, plus full festival ticket for 140 euros. To say it is the bargain of the century is an understatement.
I know glamping or camping is not for everyone, you have to be able to sleep through a certain amount of noise, but that is no problem for me. After travelling in S America, this was still luxury for me, plus you have nice beaches and restaurants on either side if you need a proper toilet and some animal protein.
It got a bit colder at night so perfect for sleeping, but after sunrise forget it, like a sauna.
There were individual artists and bands from all over the World along with top dj's and acts.
I did around 4 workshops a day, usually in the am when my brain works best, then off to the beach for a couple of hours and back up for music and dance, 7 days of that, meeting and sharing with loads of new people, it was truly magic.
Not a cop or bouncer in sight. Obviously a bit of acid and weed around, but no agro, loads of cuddling, loving, laughing, lots of very gorgeous peeps and all this under the sea air and sun.
Its lovely to see people really let go, be in the moment, with the music, the festival, not giving a shit about the stresses of the “real world” outside.
Duncan F the creator of this festival, the heart behind it, is a humble gorgeous man, who uses this medium to help charities. He told me years ago, this is his giving back.
Volunteering and giving back was not something I saw a lot of in Scotland way back, especially in the young communities, its so nice to be brought up with that belief of everything being for the benefit of all.
It has got me really excited about the Goddess Gathering which is like a festival, bunch of girls, workshops, seminars, laughs all under one roof for 4 days, its really is the best way to relight your fire for life. Www.goddessgatheringportavadie.com
We are planning a festival for Heal Scotland next year, hopefully last week in August at Kilburn Castle, I am buzzing with the potential for this, we plan to have 2000 people breathing together.
Imagine what can be achieved when egos are dropped and a common purpose and vision is shared.
There was an enormous amount of work involved in pulling the Bubble together, that takes commitment, skills, experience, teamwork, dedication and patience.
Festivals are the way ahead to teach, inspire, connect and create a World that encourages love
