To meat or not to meat that is the question?There is an incredible amount of conflicting information and judgement over diets. Vegans believe they are right and can be very nasty and angry at people who eat meat. Carnivores can be disrespectful of vegans writing them off as hippy weirdos. For the last few years my diet has been primarily vegetarian and I have felt great. But I developed post menopausal arthritis and a pain in my lower back and abdomen that was more annoying than a big deal. My body really started to feel stiff when I would get up or had been sitting for a while. I can actually hear my joints click and creak, even in my lower back. I know I can heal all of that, so I was attempting to with a ton of juice. 1-2 litres per day, sugar and wheat out, I thought that would do the trick and eliminate inflammation. 2 months later my skin looked great, I felt better but still had this bloating in my gut. Aloe vera, anti fungals, turmeric, EFT and it was still there. Then the ketogenic diet came into my awareness. My friend is on his third documentary about the benefits of a high fat diet. I had no doubt that he was right, he is super passionate, driven and ripped Irish man who really cares about our health and the opinions, beliefs and downright lies we have been fed. And to be honest I had related it more to top performance than healing, which actually is the same thing when you think about it. I lost my passion for a fit, ripped body years ago now so was not drawn to try it. Then I heard about his results with inflammation. Inflammation is thought to be the root cause of most disease. I am a cess pit for it unless I get this under control. Also I need to have manageable, scientically proven plans for my clients, some of whom are very sick in order to give them the correct information for their body, no matter what my own beliefs maybe. I have always known that meat does not cause disease, deep down that always resonated as a lie to me. Maybe if the animal was fed the wrong food, raised in fear, filled with drugs then overcooked and not chewed it would cause the body problems. But otherwise that never made sense to me. I chose not to eat it often because of our inhumane farming and the destruction of our Planet Research clearly shows that one diet does not suit all bodies. Vegans need to open their minds to this. Some people need meat to heal. Some don't. Carnivores need to be mindful of what they buy and where they buy it to assist our animals and farmers in producing humanely raised , healthy animals and products. Our markets are consumer driven. We are the consumers. Shop ethically. I was telling my friend about the ketogenic diet and she was thinking about giving it a go. Then her vegan friend told her I was giving her all the wrong advice and she would get sick if she followed a diet with animal products in it. Interesting point of view. Based on what? Science or beliefs? Be very careful that you do not push your beliefs onto someones health, you may not be factually correct.
