After 2 months of clean eating, being very well behaved, what exactly has it done for my health and wellbeing.
I have lost weight, but tbh that is no goal nowadays, I dont like being scrawny and emaciated, its very aging. See, Im still a bit vain. I still have bloating, like my abdomen has a wee life all of its own. Looks like I have swallowed a football, like it's separate from the rest of my body. It feels uncomfortable and is a symptom of high inflammation, total pain in the ass. I also have a bit of lower back pain, some days much worse than others, but this goes with the inflammation, if my internal organs are swollen then it affects my back. Over the years meat and carbs have dropped out my diet and although I am not taking or priding myself in any label I was nearly a vegan. I have done the Paleo diet before, but never gone so high in fats. But I have been researching the Keto diet and the incredible effects some people are having on it, so of course I want to see what impact it could have on my cells, and that of my clients. Will it impact my inflammation. Watch this space. Eating Animals This will be controversial among my vegan, animal loving friends, but I am only going to do it as a 4 week experiment, just to see if my body and bodies like mine need meat to feel on full power. We know you can create an incredible body and health on a vegan diet but we also know it does not work for everyone. I love animals and inhumane cruelty is unacceptable, I will be sourcing the best produce I can and I am not really sure at this stage if I can carry it through, lets see. Its making me feel a bit nauseous just looking at the pictures and just thinking about it. Its a funny thing for someone who was born into a butchers family, raised on meat 2-3 times per day! I never believed meat causes cancer because that would mean everyone in my family would be dead. Not the case, a fairly healthy, crazy bunch. I do believe inhumane farmed animals that are cooked unintelligently and shoved into the body mindlessly can harm the body. For sure I know that. But what about back to the old ways, where farmers knew the animals, they were loved and cared for and then we eventually ate them? I am not sure if my repulsion is coming from being around vegans, being educated on inhumane farming or a sign of the conscious times, or a combo of all? I have been reconditioned and I did not even realise it. Healing on Paleo and Keto My dilemma and job is to help my clients heal. Going to a strict vegan diet is just not going to happen for some people, at this time. But healing can happen on the Paleo and Keto diets. The thing that is more important than anything is getting the sugar out. Sugar and simple carbohydrate is causing the body untold stress. And its uber addictive, it has no nutritional value, affects your hormonal balance and emotional intelligence and can ruin your life. Sounds dramatic? What to eat So I started yesterday. Little enthusiasm and I had to have a talk with myself. The way you eat and the attitude you eat it with matters. Be grateful, allow the food to do its job, rejuvinate and nourish your body. I had eggs then tuna, not perfect but my car was in the garage and I just ate what was available. I did cheat as I had loads of veggies left and I juiced them all up and drank that. Extortionate! Today I went to the Supermarket to stock up. 67 euros! My veggies cost around 10-15 euros per week! I have lampuki, organic chicken, salmon, goats cheese and yoghurt such a weird shopping basket for me. Wow it is sooooo much more expensive and I doubt that what I bought will last me a week. The first week I have little veg so that I put mycellf into ketosis. Anyway watch this space. What will my cells be saying by the end of the month?
