Scotland's wild medicine retreat
For decades now I have been bleating on like an old sheep about our power to heal.
Some try for a short time, then end up back at the old habits, beating themselves up, not really understanding why. If we want things to change, we have to change things. Whether you want your body to be slimmer, less toxic, more vital and alive, that very thought insinuates right away, a need for change. Then to the neuroscience. We wire our brains by repetition and practise. Good and bad behaviours have come from this process. Thinking the same crap over and over and over, day after day after day, and then wondering why we are the way we are. Nobody thought to point this out to us. Did you know that most days we think exactly the same things as the day before, and the day before? For lasting change we need to do the good stuff and eventually the bad stuff literally disolves and disappears, the neurals pathways unglue and fall off. Don't use it, lose it. You want to be an olympic athlete or concert pianist, you need to decide, create a plan, then practise over and over, even when you cannot be arsed. If you dont, you will not reach your goal, if you do, you will. This aint rocket science, it's something we have all done and continue to do, albeit often mindlessly. My point is, knowledge of what to do does not heal you, action does. Embodying and truly having the experience is the new black Know how to reconnect to nature, then do it, over and over. Clare Holohan Clare is a qualified medical herbalist, massage therapist and clinical aromatherapist A few months ago I went to Lochaline to stay with Clare Holohan a medical herbalist, intuitive healer, massage therapist and all round incredible human being, who actually walks her walk AND talk. We had decided to collaborate on a book, which we now know is called "Scotland's Wild Medicine" She pretty much lives off the land, grows, not just her food but her medicine too. Goats, sheep, chickens, herbs, flowers, plants, vegetables and a huge shed for drying, fermenting and creating the magical potions that help her clients to heal. I have met Clare a few times and loved every second of my time with her, I bullldozed her first course with so many questions I had to force mycellf to shut up to give others a chance to speak. She is a walking, talking encyclopedia. If you are in interested in the power of plants, trees, mushrooms, herbs and all other Mother Natures offerings, then you have to get on one of her courses. She looks at the ground, which seems like a bit of grass and weeds, then she picks something up and explains it's incredible powers. I watched her explain the science, emotional and spiritual aspects of plants to a variety of people at the Heal Scotland community, a french doctor and armed forces soldier, old, young and the rest, each intrigued to learn how the plants affect the body. 3 day in Lochaline to brainstorm the book 3 days with her and SUDDENLY I have been awakened to the magic and power all around my feet. How did I get to 60 and not know this stuff? The big companies have taken our mothers bounties, processed them and now sold them back to us for HUGE profit. Time to cut out the middle man. Watching Clare, seeing her embodied, living it, working with nature and its medicinal power, defo awoke the witch in me. You can get the opportunity to be with her too, let her bring the forest alive for you. In the ancient oak forest at Portavadie we will forage, reconnect, intuit, bathe, meditate and then you will learn how to make food and remedies. How to let go of everyting that no longer serves you, and how to utilise the 5 elements for higher levels of vitality and joy. We have launched a kickstarter campaign to get the ebook, book and retreat out to our brothers and sisters who love nature. Please share if you are intrigued.
